Our mission is to support organizations that serve individuals with developmental disabilities by delivering high-quality nursing oversight, training, and healthcare coordination services. All of our nurses are licensed Registered Nurses (RNs) and certified as Registered Nurse Trainers (RNTs) in full compliance with Rule 116 of the Illinois Administrative Code.

At Midwest Nursing Solutions, all services are delivered in accordance with Rule 116: Administration of Medication for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities and tailored to the needs of agencies, CILAs, ICF/DDs, or other organizations serving individuals with developmental disabilities.

Medication Administration Oversight
Professional Guidance

Initial and annual Health Risk Screenings and evaluations

Oversight and delegation of medication administration to Direct Support Personnel (DSPs)

Conducting nursing assessments and determining individual training needs

Monitoring the effectiveness of medication administration

Developing individual medication administration plans (IMAPs)
Training & Certification
Health & Wellness Services

DSP Medication Administration Training (Basic (8 hour training), Refresher, and Annual Updates) as required by Rule 116

Evaluation and remediation of DSPs when errors occur

Can assist with maintaining DSP training records
Documentation & Compliance

Completion and oversight of documentation for medication administration

Incident follow-up and root cause analysis

Reporting and support for investigations involving medication errors

Helping agencies maintaining compliance with DHS and IDPH regulations
Remote & Virtual Services
Those services permitted by Rule 116 may be performed remotely, depending on the client’s needs and current IDPH/DHS guidelines.

Coordination with prescribing providers and pharmacies

Routine health and physical assessments

Participate in Individual Service Plans (ISPs) from a medical/nursing perspective upon request

Remotely provide Emergency nursing support and clinical judgment for health-related incidents
